Spotted Pet by Anatoliba Spotted Pet by Anatoliba
"How are you, my little darling?"

What a title. XD
You don't have to understand this. :P I just colored a sketch with the digital media for practicing.

Yeah, bother you all with uploading this on Deviantart, too, because I kinda like it. =P

Will put it into Scraps soon, as usual. XD

Loving this small grin on hyena's muzzle. And this concentrated, mischevous look in its eyes... As if it want to kiss that roman girl :D

Die Frau ist Lucia Caecilius, Ehefrau eines römischen Statthalters. Ähem ja, mal ein menschlicher Charakter von mir. ^^;

Hm I read the hyenas makes a good pet, if they wasn't stolen as young or even pre-mature from the wild, same as Nigerians does. But they needs walking, bathing, comfort and being trained. Nigerians are stupid. Their hyenas are muzzled, so they can't groom themselves, very poor fur, dust colored. The nigerians want to do circus and show the "vicious" hyenas to the tourists.
But spotted hyena is becoming a mature and being neglected, cuz owners are feared (It is somewhat large animal), then animal becoming agressive and trying to dominate, it is much harder with females then. Even Neighbours (This is a horrible English word, neghborhghtgh) are feared, and one day the hyena is being poisoned by bait . Also it is not a popular animal. People like to see a pet lion rather than hyenas. Also I never heard about any hyena petting here in Europe, but lionz lionz lionz.

No It is not good to pet hyena :/, if naive people are thinking it is a dog. But it seems that people are unable to care about their dogs as well, it's same as with hyenas. So much dog attacks, owners are irresponsible. It will end that dog will be clasified as wild animal (As domestic ferret in California, New York, etc...), and nobody may own them anymore. Because of our governments are genious. There is no any fight breeds, only guard dogs bred for protecting the owner's children. But Afro-american minorities, and Arabians fucked it all up.

A hyena as pet, that sounds very inviting or me. But ... no. They are wild animals and it would be more fun to study them in the wild than to pen one in a cage or flat.
The woman here is a fictional character of mine; a Roman woman who keep a hyena as pet. Not that unusual for the ancient world, I think. ;-) And it fits so well!

I totally agree with your comment. Hyenas are dangerous and wild animals with jaws that could bite off the arm of a human so easily. The same with big cats, wolves or bears.

Yes, Especially for the Egyptians, they tamed everything what is live being :D . Also I think the striped hyena is very tame and friendly. There was some experiments with spotted hyenas, used for hunting in 19st century. But this is all past. The hyenas was so unknown .

Yeah, the striped hyena is a very friendly and shy animal, not such a badass as the spotted guys. XD I read some time ago in a book that some African tribes domesticate spotted hyenas for hunting or keep them as status symbol.
