It is fact that spotted hyenas hunt more than they scavenge (they kill 85% of their prey themselves).
The lion steals more kills from other predatory animals than the hyenas or the other predators do. (Well, every species wants to survive, it's the circle of life.)
And last but not least, spotted hyenas are smaller and weaker than lions but they hunt the same prey (wildebeest, zebras, buffalos...).

So tell me: Who is a slobbering, mangy, stupid poacher?
